

He was born in Quincy, IL, April 16, 1928 the son of Roy D. and Mabel R. Williams Johnson. His parents, a sister, Norma Schwarz, and his brother, William Johnson all preceded him in death.
Warren served in the United States Navy and also the United States Air Force. He was an artist by profession working in the Newspaper industry and also as a professor at the University level. He returned to Springfield to be near his family. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews including; Martha (husband Mark) Scheffler, Marian Jetton, Eric (wife Mary) Schwarz, Fred (wife Sandra) Schwarz, Daniel (wife Judith) Johnson, Michael Johnson and Sandra (husband Patrick) Shea. He is also survived by his dear friend and companion, Mitty Gay of San Clemente, CA.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Lewis Memorial Christian Village on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Rev. John Nelson will officiate. Private burial of his urn will be in the Kinderhook Cemetery, Kinderhook, IL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Springfield Area Arts Council.
