He was born on November 20, 1945, in Springfield, IL, the son of Anthony Heyworth and Anna Rankin.
Bill attended Blackburn College and earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Bill went on to work as an IT tech with the IL Department of Children and Family services, from which he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Robert Rankin.
Bill is survived by his cousins, Kathleen (Kathy Herrick) Heyworth of Springfield and Marshall (Angela) Heyworth of Monona, WI; stepbrothers, Robert (Harriet) Rankin of Beardstown and Richard (Beth) Rankin of Frostburg, MD; and good friend, Geri Binkin.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family will host a Graveside Ceremony at Virden Cemetery, at a later date.
