

William L. Kitchen, 67, of Springfield, died at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home. Bill was born May 16, 1948 in Springfield, the son of Pearle and Charlotte Corday Kitchen. He married Delores "Dee Dee" Flannigan on February 16, 2012 in Springfield. Bill attended Lincoln Land Community College and served his country in the United States Army. He was a self-employed construction contractor and had also worked for Allis Chalmers. He enjoyed solitaire, Gunsmoke, Law & Order, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee Kitchen of Springfield; one son, Craig (wife, Heather) O'Shea of Dawson; four grandchildren, Troy, Travis, Allison and Laura O'Shea; one brother, Al Kitchen of Dawson; and two nieces. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
