Yoshie Kobayashi was born in Tokyo, Japan, on October 5, 1928, the daughter of Kaname and Shima Kobayashi. She married Matthew B. Hitzemann, Jr. on August 22, 1957, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force near Tokyo.
She enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress. Yoshie made many Japanese dolls and a lot of her daughter’s clothing as a child. She was proud of making her wedding gown and the dresses of her bridesmaids.
Yoshie is survived by her husband, Matthew; daughter, Debra (Reggie) Carbonell; and granddaughter, Dr. Katie (Jacob) Wise.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to private family services.
A Private Graveside Ceremony will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to APL (Animal Protective League).
