Yvonne E. Cox

Yvonne was born on March 17, 1947, in Decatur, IL. She married Robert “Bob” Cox on December 8, 1967, in Springfield.

She graduated from Lanphier High School and was employed with the Illinois State Lottery until her retirement. Yvonne previously was employed with the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She attended Chatham United Methodist Church and was a member of the Springfield Ceramic and Craft Club. Yvonne enjoyed shopping, traveling, going to craft shows, festivals, cruising, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Minser.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Bob Cox of Chatham; daughter, Jody (Bob) Walters of Huntersville, NC; two grandchildren, Amanda (Drew) Rynders of Huntersville, NC and Natacha (Max) Duggins of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren, Liam and Grayson Rynders and Silas Duggins; brother, Dennis Hanger of Garland, TX; sister-in-law, Patricia King of Naples, FL; brother-in-law, Donald (Ruth Ann) Cox of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Prairie View Reception Center, 8865 State Route 4, Chatham, IL.
