Alex was one of a kind. The center of attention in any setting. He brought joy into any situation. 
The one memory that keeps coming into my mind was Alex as a baby fighting cancer and the bravery he showed at such a young age. 
We all are better people just in knowing and being loved by him. 
I just picture him with Christ engaging him in conversation and Christ laughing with him.

At our daughter’s wedding, Alex was the life of the party! If we could all live life with Alex’s love and excitement for others, the world would be a better place. Thank you, Alex, for setting the bar high for sharing love, joy, and laughter with everyone. ♥️

Yes, Alex liked to celebrate! Another birthday with extra special cupcakes. 
He “leaned in” to whatever life brought his way. In his mind, life was to be celebrated every day. 
When I would say something that Alex liked or agreed with, he would “lean in” and say, “You got that right, Mary Kane!”
Oh, how he will be missed.

Alex was one of a kind! The twinkle in his eyes always meant that fun had arrived. His gift to family, friends and community was sharing love, joy, and laughter wherever he went. Alex Nathan Gordon set a beautiful example of how to live life to the fullest each day.
Kathy and I have been best friends for over 62 years. She and her boys, Alex and Matt, have blessed me and my family! Thank you, God, for Alex.

We loved Alex so much❤️ One of the best parts of visiting our grandparents. Always such a happy boy and made our days every time he would come over or wait for us in the driveway. We will always keep the pictures he made for us. Alex and family will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

We will miss Alex around the neighborhood on his walks, his banter with us about cars and which were working so he could go for a ride. He had a contagious smile and hello that you couldn’t resist!  We have great joy that Alex is now truly home with a perfect body and health and full access to all those who knew and have gone before him….I am sure he is catching up with all those he knew and making many more friends! He is watching over you and waiting with anticipation for your reunion in heaven. Have peace that through your unending love, he lived the best life he could! You are missed more than any words could express, since you've gone to rest.  Work for me hasn't been the same, hearing that amazing and infectious laugh as you walk down the hallway, always stopping with a smile to say GOOD MORNING THOMAS,  or the calls in the morning, and you asking me to inform the staff you're going to be late. I miss it ALL. Having the privilege of us being friends to me is the exact definition of not knowing what you truly have until it's gone.

I first met Alexander early March 2022. Since then, I have been working with Alexander and his mom on his health goals. I will never forget Alex's distinct voice and his exaggerated expressions of his emotions whether happy or upset. He always greeted me with, "Hi, Grace and "Bye, Grace".  He would often engage strangers in our waiting room and made people smile.  Alex has touched my heart and I'm grateful for the privilege to have served as Alex's Nurse Practitioner. I will never forget his distinct voice and exaggerated expression of his emotions whether he was happy or upset.  He always greeted me by name, "Hi, Grace" and "Bye, Grace".  In a world where people don't often engage each other in spaces like the waiting room, I would see him talking and engaging with strangers and saying hello to them.  Alexander has touched my heart and I am honored to have had the privilege of serving as Alex's Nurse Practitioner, Grace Thapa.

My family had the privilege of knowing Alex Gordon for over twenty years.  He was an exuberant member of Heritage Presbyterian Church who loved to dance to Praise Music and to say hello to all visitors of the Church.

Alex loved cars.  I remember his amazement when Pastor Rob and I took him to the 2020 Auto Show in Washington DC.  (Photo uploaded).

Alex had the wonder of a child.   As Jesus the Messiah  said: "I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”  Mark 10:15.  We believe that Alex is dancing with joy before God.

God Bless Kathy Gordon for being such a wonderful mother to Alex, and Matthew for being such a good brother.

Whenever we visited my parents, we could always count on Alex to come over and bless us with his presence.  He loved my kids more than I could ever explain, and he was the best hugger. I have known Alex since he was a child at Heritage Presbyterian Church. His love for the church—its music, and especially its people—shone brightly as a reflection of Christ’s love. His gentle spirit and joyful presence reminded us all of God’s goodness. I will always carry with me the memory of his faith, his love, and his radiant smile.

Lori and I started as Alex and Kathy's neighbors but we became a part of each other's families.   

Lori had a special relationship. She would always hug Alex and tell him how much she loved him. I suspect Lori was one of his closest friends. 

I teased Alex and he gave it right back to me. I'd ask him to do something for me he'd yell, "No way Jose."  (That was his favorite saying).  We had several routines and it never got old for either of us.  He had a great sense of humor. 

We have three grandkids (Ellie 21, Anna 19 & Zak 16) and Alex knew each one and their parent's car. When they would arrive, he'd either call or ring the doorbell so that he could visit.  Once, Alex was hugging Anna and wouldn't let go. It was hilarious and everyone was laughing.  I think Zak finally won the "Alex Lottery."

Alex enjoyed talking to the school kids or someone walking their dog or waving at cars driving by... always with his signature smile.  He enjoyed all the holidays but I think Halloween was his favorite.  (I'd ask for some of his candy...guess his response?)   

We all have been blessed to have had Alex in our lives and he will be sorely missed.  We love you and you'll be in our hearts forever.

For over 20 years, I have watched Alex get on the school bus, check the mail, and walk with you through the neighborhood. I considered Alex a good friend and will miss him dearly. I'll miss his booming voice and waves as he called out to me while checking the mail, always wanting to know what I was doing or where I was going. I'll miss the sound of the trash truck passing his house and blowing its horn, knowing that Alex must be outside in front of his house.

My fondest memory of Alex was when his mom allowed me to take him out for ice cream to Dairy Queen. I remember Alex being so excited as we talked while driving there. I remember arriving at Dairy Queen and standing in line to order, while Alex said hi to everyone. When it was our turn, Alex ordered a Blizzard. He asked if he could get a large one, and I asked him if his mom would be okay with that. Alex replied, "We won't tell her."

I will miss my friend and his wonderful spirit. Kathy, please know I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Alex was such a joy to all who knew him. His smile and positivity were contagious!  
I remember how he was always interested in people and what was happening in their lives, and that he always had a sweet smile for everyone.  One memory I have of him is how interested he was in my car. Once, when I was at his house, he came outside with me as I was leaving so he could see it. He leaned in through the window and pointed out everything on the dashboard and asked me to start the car.  He was interested in so many things! 
Alex will be greatly missed, and his sweet spirit will be with us always.

Alex was loved by everyone! He loved people, Jesus and he loved going to church, out to eat, singing, and everyone at the grocery store! ! I’m his cousin, Nancy! I got to talk to him on the phone 3 days before he had emergency surgery! He said, “ Hi Nancy Lucas”! 
His Mom was everything to him!!  1 in a million! He loved his little brother, Matt too!
Heaven got brighter when Alex came! ♥️♥️

Alex could really smile. And he spoke with his eyes when he looked at you. I remember him being so happy to greet people in church with long hugs. I remember him singing and how meaningful that was to me. We will remember him always as such a beautiful gift to us all.

When I think about Alex, I think about a big smile and a great big hug! He was always so positive and a joyful spirit. He had a caring and concern that was evident to all. He will be so missed. I send my deepest sympathy and much love to Kathy and Matt.

Alex became part of the MVLE family on November 5, 2012, shortly after finishing school. Over the years, he grew and flourished within the program—always learning, forming new friendships, and bringing joy to everyone around him. He loved participating in activities, socializing with his peers, and especially enjoyed equine therapy.
In the past year, Alex took great pride in being the “go-to” person to welcome students and families visiting the program. He spoke with genuine enthusiasm about what MVLE meant to him and what it felt like to be part of the MVLE community.
On a personal note, when Alex learned that one of my elderly dogs was facing health challenges, he wrote me the kindest, most thoughtful note—offering his concern and asking if he could pray for my family and our dog. His compassion and sincerity deeply touched my heart.
Alex’s kindness, warmth, and ever-present smile will always be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

You were such a sweet soul. We will forever cherish our memories with you, especially the wonderful big hugs and your famous phrases “Give me a break!!” and “You got that right!! ”. Rest peacefully in heaven, Alex!!  from Hack, Pachack, Katie, Aaron & Ryan ❤️

Alex was always friendly with staff. He always insisted walking me or the staff to the car whenever we did his home visits. He always had a welcoming smile. He will be truly missed. May the gate of heaven welcome him, and his gentle soul will continue to rest in peace.

I will always remember Alex he was the first person I met at Heritage Presbyterian Church. He spotted me sitting in the back pew of the sanctuary my first time there . He came up and nealed on the pew in front of me and didn't say anything at first.  I introduced myself and he sad Hi, I just remember how beautiful his blue eyes were. He had Angel eyes he was a pure kind soul and was a friend to everyone he met. I'm sure he has made fast friends with all the other Angels in Heaven.  He will be missed please accept my deepest condolences Kathy and the rest of his family.

We were neighbors to Kathy, Alex and Matthew for many years.  We truly enjoyed talking to Alex every time we walked our dogs by his house.  He would tell me about his day, his school and what he had planned for the week.  He always asked me about my children, Caitlin and Ryan.  He was the sweetest, kindest young man.  It was always a joy to see him.  Our condolences to Kathy, Matthew and their family.

I remember how much Alex wanted to participate in all that life offered. We worked together with his mom at the Day to Serve program, bagging meals for needy school children.  The 3 of us also enjoyed a day trip to Sight and Sound Theater in Pennsylvania to see "Moses".  He and Kathy came over to our house for a cookout and pool party, and he asked me many times when he could come back.  I feel sad that we were not able to plan more of these outings, but believe he is in good company in the arms of our Lord.  Love, Fran
