

Bennett C. Osborne, age 75, stepped into eternity on Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home in Springfield, VA.
Ben was born on December 10, 1939 in Pleasant Garden, NC, a son of Marvin and Alice Osborne. He graduated from Chaminade University in Hawaii with a dual major in Business and Philosophy and went on to get his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University.
Ben had a distinguished 26 year career in the United States Coast Guard, with tours that included North Carolina, Virginia, Rhode Island, Oregon, Maine, Hawaii and Washington, DC retiring at the rank of Commander. After retirement, he began his second career as a residential remodeler, becoming one of Northern Virginia’s prominent leaders in the industry. Ben was an active and long time member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), serving on the Board of Directors, bringing his passion for education and the advancement of excellence to the profession. He was awarded numerous honors including the NARI Contractor of the Year Award and the Presidential Award of Excellence.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sanna Osborne; daughter, Andrea Alder; son, Mark Osborne; granddaughters, Audrey Alder and Lydia Osborne; grandsons; Austin Alder, Luke Gagorik, and Eli Alder; mother, Alice Jackson; siblings, Mary Sams, Bill Osborne, Sandi Osborne and Donna Ogletree.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Region or Capital Caring Hospice.
