Carol was born in Alexandria, Virginia on December 31, 1941 to Paul and Ada Louise Jerry. She graduated from Lee High School in 1959 and went to work at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Approximately five years later she met and married John William Godbee whose marriage resulted in two daughters, Mary Louise Brown of Woodbridge, Virginia and Jean Ann Godbee of Daytona Beach, Florida.
After driving a school bus for St. Michael’s School where her daughters attended, Carol pursued a career at Fairfax Hospital for 28 years, starting in Medical Records and retiring from the Tower Operating Room.
Prior to moving to Woodbridge, Carol attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church. After relocation, she attended All Saint’s Anglican Church on occasion. She loved to read and was an immaculate housekeeper, with laundry being her specialty. Upon retirement Carol acquired three beagles, Jewel, Romper, and Chloe whom she loved dearly and found much joy in caring for.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Mary Louise Brown and Jean Ann Godbee. She also leaves her granddaughters, Amber Louise Brown, Jade Nicole Brown-Roberts, and Jordan Marie Armstrong; and one great-grandson, Christian Alejandro Gonzalez whom she called Pooh Bear. She also leaves brothers Frank Jerry III and Al Borum, a special friend and caregiver, Enat Tadesse, and many close friends and extended family members.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Louise Jerry; her Aunt Violet Wix, and Uncle Frank Jerry, Jr.
