My husband and I met Kay in Japan in 1957 when my husband was there on an assignment with the U S A Airforce.    Kay was Librarian on the base.  My husband introduced his co-worker , Ed Flynn  to Kay.  They both were single and fell in love .  They married and we couples became life long friends, visited each other after returning to the states.   Wonderful watching their family grow .  Ed preceeded Kay in death .  May they RIP . 

We met Kay in Ashiya, Japan in 1957 when my husband had an assignment with the AirForce. She  came to our library and met her future husband, Ed Flynn .  He worked with my husband maintaining the C-130 flight similator. We couples became close friends and remained no matter whereeverwe lived .  I lost touch with her in 2019 when I couldn’t reach her by phone.  I suspected she had passed away .  I finally found her obituary and want to let her family know what a wonderful friendship  i hsd.  Kay was fun, intelligent,  Interesting and a devout Catholic.  She is now with the Lord and with her dear husband. My condolences to you all.  Condolences also, from my son, David whom you all baby sat on one occasion or another.  Whenever I would visit my sister, Sue, I would make sure I visited your mother whenever I could.  I always admired her and her faith in the Lord.  Kay was the friendliest, most loving person I knew.  I was happy to adopt her cat Autumn when she moved and wasn't able to take Autumn with her.  Then when I moved my niece, Jacqui adopted Autumn.  I was sorry that I lost touch with Kay when she moved to Fairfax.  She and all of you were a positive influence in my life.  Love to you all,

My Nana was a fearless, funny, and kind woman. My favorite memories with her are when she would take me to the movies and to Friendly's (her favorite) for my birthday and tell me stories about her life. She was a confident and passionate woman, with a desire to help anyone and everyone and refused to take no for an answer. I love you Nana! 

The Tau Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order (Herndon, VA) shares in the grief of the family at the passing of our Franciscan sister, Kay. “Lord, those who die still live in Your presence; their lives change but do not end.”


I enjoyed seeing Kay at SJN and working with her with RCIC.  She had great stories of her travels and inspired me to travel with Road Scholar (Elderhostel).  May she Rest In Peace.

So very sorry to hear that  Our dear neighbor Kay has passed away.
