The jlanguage has no words that can express our feeling of the loss of our daughter Chenty Ivellisse.  But while we are trying to deal with our grief,  we want to take a moment to send you a  message of gratefulness and appreciation for your actions of love that came to us at the time when we needed it the most.  From the deepest part of our hearts, and from the strongest thoughts of our mind, we are expressing our thanks for your love, care and concern. Thanks for your  time,  cards, letters, e-mails, and tel. calls. Thanks for the food, financial support and your many other ways of sharing your feelings and emotions with us.

Sorry to hear of Chenty's passing. It was unexpected... and sad. Now how does one move on from this?

I did not know Chenty but my wife did, from her job at the bureau. Her reaction to Chenty's departure and stories of her friend's generosity of spirit have told me a great deal about the kind of person Chenty was.

My husband and I worked with Chenty at DOD Civilian Personnel Management Service years ago.   She was vibrant, always full of life, and we enjoyed being in her company. We are truly saddened by her untimely death and we extend our utmost condolences to the Correa family.

My dear friend, I had to lay you to rest today.  Words can not convey the deep void that has taken hold of my heart.  I will miss you dearly.  You were part of every joyous occasion in my life and it is hard to believe you are no longer with me.  I just want to hold you tight and never let go. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm shocked and incredibly saddened that she's gone.  I'd only worked with her for a couple months, but she made an indelible impression on me.  Her personality was like a force of nature.  She was so vibrant and full of life.  She's certainly going to be missed.

Oh Chenty I miss the days way back when and we would play dress up in Enid's clothes and make up and just be the annoying little sister and her best friend bugging Enid!  Those are the days when things were so much simpler no stress or struggles then we had to grow up and I just hope you are in a happy place now!  Love you and miss you more than words can say. I went to Home coming with her in 1987 in her GTO.  She was one of my few friends in Hayfield High School I talked to her and saw her everyday we use to walk to class together and talk about the future my condolences to her family she was a great person.  Will miss you old friend.

God has recalled another angel.  It was our pleasure to have known Chenty.  She was such a joy to be around and she wasn't just a friend to our daughter Jennifer, but more of a second sister.  Her passing has created a great void in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.   Chenty, may Jesus embrace you and welcome you into his kingdom. I was a former coworker of Chenty at OPM. Chenty would join our "lunch bunch" on occasion. After I left OPM for DEA and she went to FBI we remained friends and kept in touch...but, not often enough. For it was a shock to me when I heard of Chenty's passing. I have an anguished feeling when I think that I won't hear her laugh or cheerful conversion again or have another opportunity for lunch.  I am so sorry for her family and for all of us who called her friend...a most dreadful loss of a life with so much yet ahead. I can only pray she is in peace. I'm sorry I know the words just don't help.

My heartfelt condolences during your time of loss.  Chenty was "a candle" burned out way too soon. I will forever miss her kind, compassionate, energetic and helpful spirit.  May she rest in total peace.

This sudden news comes as a shock to me.  Losing Chenty is like losing family. Knowing her was a privilege. My sincerest sympathies to the family and friends.

I was Chenty's supervisor when she worked at OPM on the COLA program.  In addition to the pleasure of working with her day to day, I also had the privilege of doing a COLA survey with her for 3 weeks in Puerto Rico.  Chenty was very bright, enthusiastic, funny, and always willing to help, no matter how big or small the task.  When we would stumble, she would always help. Always.  She had an enormous heart and wonderful smile.  I pray for her and her family and friends.  May she rest in peace.  With respect and affection.

I too met Chenty during the Executive Leadership Program, she was such a cheerful and motivating spirit encouraging us all to reach just little higher in every aspect of living whether work or play.  I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing and wish to express my condolences to her family, what a tragic loss.

Chenty was such a smart, beautiful and vivacious person that we will all truly miss her.  My prayers are with the Correa family during this time of loss.

I feel blessed to have had Chenty in my life and will miss her infectious smile and laughter, her positive outlook on life, and everything else about her. Chenty's departure was sudden. I remember my good friends telling me the incredible news. This hit us hard in all kinds of ways. She was young for this but, it is obvious to me that Chenty lived a good woman's life. She was loved by her friends and family and had done much while here to set good examples and leave fond memories for all whose lives she touched. I have started my message several times, but I can not think of the right words.  There are no words to explain Chenty's loss. I can not believe she is gone. She was a giving and caring person.

My sympathies go to the Correa family. Chenty - you will be missed. You will always be in my memories.

God bless the Correa Family, especially during this most difficult time. Chenty will be missed dearly by all. In the very brief time I knew her, I knew she was special. I learned so much from her and she was always a breath of fresh air to me. I am deeply saddened to learn of the unfortunate and untimely death of your daughter and my good friend Chenty. There are no words to describe the utter grief that I am feeling right now, and I cannot possibly imagine the shock and sorrow that has been thrust on your family as well. 

I will always remember fondly the experience she and I had going to softball games, listening to her play the piano - oh how she loved to play Christmas music, talking about the garden she grew in her backyard with the help of her father, how she learned that her mother had a facebook page before she did - in her name =), going to trivia night on Monday nights and checking our blackberries for the answers-and we still never won, and simply just hanging out together. Those who knew Chenty well knew that she was an open book and had a big heart. She would do anything for you within her power to do so. It is true that she was taken from us too soon, and I think you share my sentiment that it feels a little unfair that such a smart and talented young woman's life has ended with so much living left to do. It is my firm belief that her purpose was to serve a greater good. Right now, we all are trudging through the mourning process, but with support from friends and family; I think we can find ourselves whole again.

I was fortunate to work with Chenty several years ago and get to know her as a caring and kind spirit.  Chenty was a valued friend and colleague to many of us. She is still there in my memories.

I remember Chenty Ivelisse escorted me to tour the DC Monuments, the summer of 1982 during my first visit to DC.  She was only 11 years old.  I was so impressed with her smarts, kindness, her smile, sweet voice, and her instructions too. She made me feel special…Years went by and she became a precious young woman who brought much joy and pride to her family and friends.  

How fortunate we are that in our hearts we keep for ever the treasured memories of those we love and the time we shared together.  May those memories give you comfort.

My heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Correa Family.  I met Chenty several years ago.  She and I worked in the Policy Unit.  Chenty had a beautiful smile and a heart to match!  I often said that she was an "old soul", because she seemed to enjoy talking with all people and went out of her way to help anyone on a personal or professional level, even those she barely knew.  For those that she leaves behind, disbelief will be our companion for a short while; but our fondest memories of Chenty will stay with us forever.  It is those memories, love and faith that will eventually peel away the pain and set us free.

Chenty and I worked together at OPM and later remained friends. She  attended my retirement at the end of July, and we made plans to have lunch in September. Her death, at so young an age, causes me such deep sorrow that I can only imagine the grief of those closest to her. What we can remember of her--her kindness, integrity, faith, loyalty, and reliability--are signs of a successful life, no matter how short.
