

Age 67, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Born November 30, 1948 in Castleberry, Alabama. Cliff was baptized as a Christian as a young boy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Euvie Moye Rankin; Sisters, Katherine Rankin; Evelyn Foster; E’von Williams; Brothers, Willie N. Rankin; Joseph C. Rankin. Clifford is survived and loved dearly by: His daughter, Lishelle Rankin of Keizer, Oregon; his son, Derrick A. Rankin of Springfield, Virginia, his only grandchild, Jaden M. Youngblood; his former wife, Sharon Few (mother of his children); three sisters, Carrie Crenshaw; Barbara (Robert) Valentine; Euvie M. Rankin; brother, Ruthers A. Rankin; a host of nieces and nephews; other family members, friends.
Cliff spent most of his early childhood in Castleberry, Alabama, where he graduated from Southern Normal High School in 1966. He graduated from Knoxville College in 1970, majoring in political science. He later received his Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University. Cliff was an avid sports’ fan, forever loyal to the Washington Red Skins! He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved music and he loved to dance - boy did he love to dance!
He retired after dedicating twenty years to the United States Air Force. In addition, he also retired from the Department of Defense in 2013.
His children, grandchild, and former wife want to take this time to thank: His family, friends, and his home health care team. In lieu of flowers, you may choose to donate to “Children’s Cancer Society.” This was one of Cliff’s favorite charities.
Cliff’s “Celebration of Life” services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Demaine Funeral Home 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, Virginia 22151 (703-941-9428). His viewing will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm; his memorial service will be from 1:00-3:00pm: we shall then gather at “Alley Cat” for a reception, a catered meal, music, dancing, and a trip down Cliff’s Memory Lane.
