
Harold attended Washington-Lee High School where he played basketball and third base on the state championship baseball team. After graduation in 1949, Harold briefly served with the Corps of Cadets at VPI&SU. He later followed his father’s footsteps and became an apprentice electrician from 1950 - 1953., while also serving in the Army reserve. After his honorable discharge from the Army as a Sergeant First Class in 1961, Harold worked 30 years as an electrician for the Walter Truland Corporation and Capital Hilton Hotel. In 1982, Harold was the Gold Award Winner of the Second Annual Washington, DC Hospitality Service Award.
Harold was a devoted husband to his wife Margaret for 61 years (before her passing in 2013) and a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Beall, son David Beall (Betsy), granddaughter Jennifer Carlson (Sonya), grandson Patrick Beall, and great granddaughters Maggie Carlson and Everly Knight.
A private burial will be held for the family at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA.
