Ibeth Emelania Garay

Ibeth was born on February 3, 2000 at Virginia Hospital Center located in Arlington, and formally known as Arlington hospital. She attended the following Arlington public schools: Barrett Elementary, Swanson Middle School, and Washington Lee High School, where she graduated in 2018.

Ibeth’s mother is from El Salvador. She first came to the United States in 1989 and originally lived in Texas. Later she moved to Virginia, where she made a home for her family. Ibeth grew up to be bilingual, having originally spoken Spanish at home. She appreciated her mom’s broccoli and cheese pupusas, as much as her love for number one on the MacDonald’s menu, the all American burger and fries. Ibeth was a young woman reflecting two cultures, and enjoying the best from each one. Ibeth was always open to new experiences and she taught us all a lot about how to adapt to change and to life’s challenges.

Ibeth was a talented artist and gamer. She devoted herself to her art work and worked hard to refine her design skills. Art became a major expressive outlet as well as her link to the world of gaming. She wanted to be a game developer, and to use her skills as a graphic artist. Art was her passion.

In her short life, Ibeth learned that it’s good to be patient, and to acknowledge and open up to her emotions. She had the kindness to forgive and the wisdom to inspire. She was a great friend to many, an amazing daughter and a wonderful aunt and sister. Her family meant the world to her and it was obvious in ways big and small. Ibeth is survived by Eduviges Garay, her mother, Ingrid Reyes, her older sister, and Abigail Rivas, her niece.

The family is hosting a visitation and funeral service at the Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield on January 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the evening. She will be laid to rest at Columbia Gardens Cemetery on January 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday you’re welcome to meet us at the funeral home in Springfield and follow the procession to the cemetery with us, or you can meet us directly at Columbia Gardens for the burial.

Ibeth Emelania Garay, de 22 años, de Arlington, Virginia, falleció el sábado 7 de enero de 2023, después de una batalla de un año contra el cáncer de hueso.

Ibeth nació el 3 de febrero de 2000 en el Virginia Hospital Center, ubicado en Arlington, y formalmente conocido como el hospital de Arlington. Asistió a las siguientes escuelas públicas de Arlington: Barrett Elementary, Swanson Middle School y Washington Lee High School, donde se graduó en 2018.

La madre de Ibeth es de El Salvador. Llegó por primera vez a los Estados Unidos en 1989 y originalmente vivió en Texas. Más tarde se mudó a Virginia, donde hizo un hogar para su familia. Ibeth creció para ser bilingüe, habiendo hablado originalmente español en casa. Apreció las pupusas de brócoli y queso de su madre, tanto como su amor por el número uno en el menú de MacDonald's, la hamburguesa americana y las patatas fritas. Ibeth era una mujer joven que reflejaba dos culturas y disfrutaba de lo mejor de cada una. Ibeth era un artista y jugador talentosa. Se dedicó a su obra de arte y trabajó duro para perfeccionar sus habilidades de diseño. El arte se convirtió en una importante salida expresiva, así como su vínculo con el mundo de los juegos. Quería ser desarrolladora de juegos y usar sus habilidades como artista gráfica. El arte era su pasión.

En su corta vida, Ibeth aprendió que es bueno ser paciente y reconocer y abrirse a sus emociones. Tenía la amabilidad de perdonar y la sabiduría de inspirar. Era una gran amiga para muchos, una hija increíble y una tía y hermana maravillosa. Su familia significaba el mundo para ella y era obvio de maneras grandes y pequeñas. A Ibeth le sobreviven Eduviges Garay, su madre, Ingrid Reyes, su hermana mayor, y Abigail Rivas, su sobrina.

La familia organizará un servicio de visitas y funerales en la funeraria Demaine en Springfield el 20 de enero de 2023, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. de la noche. Ella descansará en el cementerio de Columbia Gardens el 21 de enero de 2023, a las 10:30 a.m. El sábado puedes reunirte con nosotros en la funeraria de Springfield y seguir la procesión al cementerio con nosotros, o puedes reunirte con nosotros directamente en Columbia Gardens para el entierro.
