

She is survived by her husband Jeremiah Paul Hazlett of Springfield VA, her sons Douglas T. Henry of Inwood WV, Paul W. Henry of Front Royal VA, her daughter Alice K. Roman of Manassas VA, and her sister Susan Nash-Russell of Plantation FL. She also has 2 grandchildren, plus one who preceded her in death, and two great grandchildren.
She was born in Lower Marion Township, Montgomery County PA, to Harriet Sarah Young and Albert Thomas Hadfield. She graduated from Radnor High School in Wayne, PA in 1952.
During her first marriage, she lived in Norfolk Virginia, Honolulu Hawaii, Carlsbad CA, New Orleans LA, she then moved into her current residence of Springfield VA on July 20th 1969, the day man landed on the moon.
She worked at the Sears Roebuck store at the Landmark Mall in Alexandria, VA for many years, in both the drapery department and then the hardware and tractor department, where she was quite knowledgeable in all the particulars of measurements, and the functionality of the hardware. She had several great work family friends she met there, where she was also introduced to and eventually fell in love with and married Jeremiah (Jerry) on April 30th 1973. Jerry has 5 living children, 1 deceased, through his prior marriage. Two of his sons lived with the family at the Springfield residence for a period of time.
June was an animal lover who raised, owned, and found homes for Poodle litters she took care of, and later she became active in the Sheltie rescue. She also raised birds, mainly Cockatiels, and in addition to the ones she raised, she found homes for some of them as well.
A funeral is scheduled for February 26th at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA. Family visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, and a service will be held 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We will then proceed to Quantico National Cemetery to arrive ~ 1:30 for a 2:00 burial service.
