On February 5, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, God called Kevin to come home and be with his Dad.
Born on June 17, 1961, in Staunton, Virginia. He is the eldest son of the late William “Bill” and Geraldine Snyder of Stephens City, Virginia. Besides his mother he is survived by one son, Zachary Smith of Woodbridge, Virginia, one brother, Tony and his wife Maria Snyder of Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Kevin attended Garfield Elementary School, Francis Scott Key Intermediate and Robert E. Lee High School, all in Springfield, Virginia.
He loved the country, where as a boy his Dad taught him to drive on tractors. He spent many trips hunting and fishing with his Dad and brother, Tony. Sometimes they even came home with a trophy.
Then came his teen years, with sports where he enjoyed county league Babe Ruth Baseball and Basketball. He played freshman baseball at Lee High School.
He worked numerous jobs until he finally settled into carpentry and painting. He was working for Delta Painting and Wallcovering, Inc. as foreman of a paint crew. He loved his Harley Davidson, which he worked very hard in his life to own. He enjoyed "snagging" his friend Lester to go riding in the country.
Kevin had a unique personality where he could make friends easily and once a friend always a friend. He had grown to be a hard working, strong, caring man that has made his family extremely proud. He packed in more living in his 50 years, than most people do in their lifetime. He will be sorely missed by not only his family, but all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to the Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Company #22. 7011 Backlick Rd. Springfield, VA 22150.
