Demaine Funeral Home

Our hearts were touched on February 10, 2021 when the beloved Norma Chavez, 81 years of age from Annandale, Virginia passed away at Inova Fairfax Hospital located in Falls Church, Virginia Norma Chavez was born in Lima, Peru to Pedro Chavez and Emiliana Romero Farro on September 25, 1939. Norma’s dreams and aspirations were to come to The United States to provide for her daughters a better life and future. While moving to the United States with her family, Norma started working as a Nanny and took care of many young children. Norma also known as just “Grandma” would earn this nickname as she was a fantastic caregiver and was seen to have positive influences on children. Norma eventually would end up picking up a job as a Cashier at a local McDonalds in Alexandria, Virginia. Over time her tremendous hard work ethic was recognized and later on would be promoted to a crew Manager. Norma was well loved by the community and much respected by her colleagues. After 15 years of steady work with the company, Norma would announce her retirement at the age of 70. Norma Chavez is preceded in death by her Father, Pedro Chavez, and mother, Emiliana Romero Farro, her two brothers, Jorge Espinoza, Eduardo Chavez. Norma Chavez is survived by her daughters, Janet Blank, Giovana Rojas, Mariella Rojas. Her brother Alberto Chavez. Her half-sister Luz Chavez. Her son-in-laws; John Blank and Oscar Aguero. She has four grandchildren: Franklin Feia, Edward Feia, Emily Blank and William Blank, also a beloved dog named Max. She is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews whose names may have not been mentioned Norma Chavez was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend. She was a very lively person, she loved to dance, cook, and spend lots of time with her family and friends. Grandma believed that family was the most important aspect of life as we should value them and be there for them whenever we can be. Norma taught others to always have faith and goals as this was a big part of her everyday life because without faith none of us would be here today. Norma always wanted the best for her family and friends, she truly did everything she could to provide and was always a helping hand when needed. Norma's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she truly touched.
