

Norman S. (Mac) McMorrow, age 89, a resident of Springfield, VA, passed away on October 31, 2011. He was a retired Engineering Consultant with Northrup Wilcox. Mac was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during World War II as a P38 Photo Reconnaissance pilot in Europe. He was Charter Member #97 in the P-38 National Association. He earned his Distinguished Flying Cross, an Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Unit Citation: MTO August 28, 1944 for Southern France Campaign. He has many more distinctions as a pilot serving in the U.S. Air Force until 1952 and achieving the rank of Major.
Mac left behind, a longtime partner and friend, Mary (Kate) Cook; daughter, Mary Gene Thompson; sons, Norman Scott McMorrow III and Gary Allan McMorrow; five grandchildren, Michelle Meade Jones, Alyssa Megan McMorrow, Cian Allan Conlan McMorrow, Ceili Shea Susanna McMorrow and Caera Aine Rosaleen McMorrow.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 3-7pm with a service at 4:30pm, Demaine Funeral Home Springfield.
