Mrs. Paulette Arlene Martin was born on February 11, 1959 in Los Angeles, California to the late Jesse and Patsy Hamilton. She graduated from David Star Jordan High School in 1976 and from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in 1995 with a double major in Sociology and American Studies. She was a member of McLean Bible Church and recently attended Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, Virginia. During her time at McLean Bible, she served as a leader in the Living Well with Cancer Ministry even with her health declining. She passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Mrs. Martin worked in public service the majority of her career. She served three years in the U.S Army from 1983-1986. In 1992, she began her 25 year career in the Fairfax County Government. She served as a Clerical Specialist with the Wastewater Treatment Division from 1992 to 1997, as an Accounting Clerk with the Department of Housing from 1997-2000, as a Human Service Assistant from 2000-2002, and as a Housing Service Specialist from 2002 until her retirement in 2017. During her time in the Army she met and married Stanley Martin on October 7, 1985. Their marriage produced one son. Mrs. Martin’s hobbies included arts and crafts, spending time with her family, walks with her husband, watching TV and reading God’s word. Mrs. Martin leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Stanley Martin Sr of Alexandria, VA, her son Stanley Martin Jr of Alexandria, VA; her brothers David Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA and James Hamilton of Hodgenville, KY; her in-laws Donna Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA and Nancy Hamilton of Hodgenville, KY; her nephews David Hamilton, Jr of Los Angeles, CA, Jason Hamilton of Hot Springs, AR; and her nieces Nichole Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA, Paulette Hamilton of Dallas, TX, Patricia Hamilton of Tulsa, OK, and Courtney Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA.
