Bill & Family:  I remember we[[ the first time I saw Will.  He was with you and Ellen at Mr. Manning's house in Ellen's arms.  I don't recall if I ever saw him again as a  toddler or teenager but I do remember that he looked so much much like you.  I am praying for you and your family and know that GOD will bear your pain.  Please be assured of that.

The first time I met will, I was over at his house trying to print out a resume because I didn’t have a printer (we lived next door to each other at the time). He noticed I was having a hard time and came over to help. He spent over 20 minutes fixing the issue without me even asking, just because that’s who he was. Soon after, him and my boyfriend moved into an apartment together so I ended up seeing a lot of him and getting to know him better. He was truly a one of a kind human being, so much that you couldn’t help but smile when you saw him. His presence alone could lift your spirits no matter what kind of day you were having. I always thought the water at their apartment tasted funky so I never drank it. One day I showed up there to find that he had bought me a britta water filter to use there. He bought cat toys for our new cats and would take them into his room to play with them. Such simple acts have left such a huge, everlasting impact on me. He was so unbelievably kind and has held and will continue to hold a very special place in my heart. The words I’ve read other people share about him ring so true: the infectious laugh, his radiance, the twinkle in his eye as if they were always laughing. The heart of an angel. I love you Will. The world is a lesser place without you. 

Ellen, Erin, David and Bill - 

We cannot begin to convey our sadness for your loss.  I’m sure this feels even more surreal for you.  Having basically grown up for some years in your home, Evan and I can say from experience that even in his far too short life, William received a lifetime of love from you, and gave it back in return.  

So many memories come to mind - watching movies I was too scared to watch that William loved (i.e., Outbreak), pulling our teeth out (!), playing in your backyard, painting our nails Cowboys colors, family dinners and falling asleep on the couch.  I can still hear Erin calling for “William” (which sounded more like “Wee-yum”) and William making fun of how Erin said “William” until we all collapsed in laughter. 

More than anything, we remember that unbeatable Williams family smile and completely adorable, infectious giggle.  William brought so, so much laughter, happiness, and fun to our childhood and - we have no doubt - to everyone he encountered in his life.  We are sure that giggle is echoing throughout Heaven, where William has found any peace that may have eluded him in life.

William was the first “boy” I ever loved, and even though it was young love, it was very real. He had a knack for knowing how to love people and it was hard not to return it to such a nice guy. Even years later, William would periodically reach out to give me a hard time about the Burgundy and Gold, and it was always a welcomed and warm interaction. He came from a family of warm and loving people and was truly the salt of the Earth. He set the bar so high for what I would expect from love. I am so incredibly thankful that I had the opportunity to know such a kind and beautiful soul. People will always talk about the good qualities of another when they pass, but even through life, whenever I would share about “my first love” to others in my journey, I could never think of a bad thing to say about him. “Only the good die young”, and that’s clearly the case. He was nothing but goodness.

I am grieving with you, Williams family. This is such a devastating loss to the world. 

Bill, Ellen, Erin and David I just wanted to say how very sorry I am for the loss of your son and brother. I have so many fond memories of William. My most special memory is when he came to spend the night at my house to hang out with Michael and Kara when he was about 9 or 10.  On the way there he asked if they would have to stay on the sidewalk when they rode bikes and I said we didn’t have any sidewalks so they could ride wherever they wanted.  We had to meet Bill the next day because they were on their way to Dallas to see their beloved Cowboys.  I will always remember his smiling eyes. As I watched the memorial video, it made me smile and cry at the same time. Although I haven’t seen any of you in years, please know that each of you, and William,  will remain in my heart forever. I’m sorry that I can’t be there today but know that I’m there in spirit. May he rest in eternal peace ❤️

Each and all of you are in my prayers today and in the coming weeks ahead, as you have been since Williams' passing. I join you in grieving the loss and offer you my prayers that God, through his human angels, may be of support to you at this time. May you find comfort and peace as you join with friends and family today to share memories in love and affection. I wish I were able to attend the service and gatherings, but I will be there in spirit.

i may not have known william for as long as others, but i think it was only knowing him for a matter of minutes before it was apparent that you were in good company.  my favorite thing about him was the twinkle in his eyes, i know this sounds really silly, but it’s like they were always laughing,and i think i would tell him just about every time i saw him that i thought it was the most adorable thing.  he was just so endearing, no matter how badly i would be feeling just the sight of him would put a smile on my face, always.  i cherished that about him.  it’s so rare to meet people that have an unwavering genuine warmth and kindness- a true friend- he always kept his word, he never once let me down.  the only solace i have from this is that i know william knew how i grateful i was and how much he meant to me because i made it a point to tell him in my long rambly nonsensical messages he was nice enough and had the patience to read and make sense of.  amidst all my manic feelings and the very deep sense of loss and absolute sadness that he is gone, there is much joy and fondness in his memories... i used to call him my angel, i know in my heart that he is now watching over all of us.  miss you, william. you were just the best.  

I met William at Sweetwater over a decade ago. His charming disposition was undeniably magnetic and our relationship inevitably grew from coworkers to good friends and eventually into dating one another. In that time, I came to know William as an extremely kind-hearted, loving, and positive individual who always wore a gigantic smile and built up those around him. Anyone who truly knew William had more love in their hearts and memories that will last a lifetime. He was radiant and special. He loved unconditionally. He was one of the most giving and gentle guys I've had the privilege of dating and although I can't quite remember why we parted ways, I wish we would've remained in each other's lives in some capacity. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I am forever grateful for the brief time I did spend with them, as they worked to not only make me feel welcome in their home but accepted. Their love for one another was palpable and not growing up in a similar environment, meant the world to me to witness. William was beyond blessed  being such an integral part of an incredible, tight-knit family and having had friends throughout his life who loved him with the entirety of their being. He will surely be missed and the love that he so generously gave will live in our hearts for all eternity. Love you, William!

Sorry for this photo Williams family ... but it is one of my favorites.  A long time ago, William and I made a bet, and obviously he lost.  Therefore, this was his Facebook profile pic for one week.   Every year when it comes up first thing I do is text it to him.  You can see the pure joy in his eyes as he wore the burgundy and gold.  But the picture represents so much more to me than a lost bet.  He was a man of his word.  He was passionate about life (and the Cowboys).  He had the biggest heart out of anyone I know.   And so does everyone else in the Williams family.  I always fell like part of the family when I am with you all. 

William and I were the great friends for many years.  We worked together.  We played golf together. We played poker together.   We would call each other up to just have lunch.   I will miss all those things.  Love you buddy!


William taught me how to drive stick shift in a Chevy Beretta. One of my best and last memories of him was coming home from Iraq, and the Bagot brothers were throwing a party. He saw me walking up the driveway, and he ran right up to me and jump hugged me so I had to support all his weight. We we're both laughing, and had a really great night. William always brought us laughter. He wasn't judgemental, and you could talk to him about almost everything. That's what I loved about him. I always feel that no matter how much time would pass we would pick right back up where we left off. This time I wish I didn't let so much time pass. I wish I was in the photo I posted, but I had to take the picture! I miss you.
