Charles Freddie Pogue

Charles F. Pogue, 83, of Bridgeton, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Green and Anna Chloe (nee Rayfield) Pogue; siblings, Harold (Audrey) Pogue, Lehman (Velma) Pogue, Margaret (Arnie) Martin, Sonny (Jean) Pogue, Edna (Jack) Wilkinson, and Rosemary (Willard) Bone. Charles is survived by his children, Sheri (Kim) Istre, Cathy (Mel) Hendrix, Susan Hunott (Mike Waller), Paul Pogue, Elizabeth (Larry) Leckrone, Charles (Alexandria) Pogue; step children, Melissa (Russell) Smith and Darla (Darren) Martin; grandchildren, Benjamin, Charles (Brandy), and Katherine Matte, Kevin (Dana) , Joshua, and Amanda Fuwell, Meggan and Ellen Hunott, Shelby Waller, Barbara, Cierra, Trevor, and Savannah Pogue, Jasmine and Lawrence Leckrone, Carlisa Pogue, Madelyn Oar, and Davin Pogue, Christopher Burford, Alicia and Brandon Smith, and Drew and Daniel Martin; great grandchildren, Raegan, Landon, Abel, Matthew, Parker, Lincoln, Lindsay, and Macie; and siblings, Pauline (the late Seamon) Beck, Lois (the late Don) Benson, and Shirley (the late Earl) Russell. Dear cousin, uncle, and friend of many.

Charles retired after 30 years with General Motors and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a man who loved to socialize with friends and family. He enjoyed fishing with his buddies, Jerry and Chris Gorski, at their lake. He loved to dance and didn’t care who was watching. He enjoyed telling stories about his life to anyone who would listen and especially enjoyed telling tales of his days growing up near the Black River. Charles had an amazing sense of humor and taught his children many life lessons. He truly went through life full speed ahead and with the top down! His zest for life and kind heart will be missed

Friends may visit on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4 until 7 with a service starting at 7 p.m. An inurnment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Expressions of condolence are appreciated at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
