

Clastine C. (nee Alexander) DuBose, 90, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, James P. Alexander and Mary Anna (nee Woods) Alexander, her husband, Demosthenes DuBose, stepson, Leslie DuBose, and siblings, Boyce (James) Wilkins, Arcelia (Wilbur) Williamson, Barbara Jean Orea, and Vincent Alexander. Clastine is survived by her sisters, Albernice Fagen, Rowena (the late Maurice) Washington, and Yvonne (Robert) Ward; grandchildren, Leslie DuBose, Jr., Derrick DuBose, John DuBose, Abigail DuBose, Aisha DuBose, Taisha DuBose, and Sarah DuBose; dear aunt, cousin, and friend.
Clastine was one of 8 children born to James and Mary Anna Alexander in St. Louis, MO on July 21, 1927. She was always kind and caring and a very affectionate person. She graduated from Lincoln University where she was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. She received her Masters in social work from Washington University. Her compassion was felt by many in her line of work as Director of Social Work for the City Hospital #1 and at Homer G. Phillips Hospital. Mrs. DuBose enjoyed traveling with her husband and she enjoyed shopping for pretty things to wear. Clastine was an avid card player and was a sharp Bridge player. Her kind heart and compassion for people will surely be missed.
Friends may visit on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
