Deborah (Debbie) was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 29th, 1953, to the late Oscar L. and Louise Stewart.
Debbie was the beloved mother of Stephen (Angie) Williams and Shaun Williams; loving grandmother of Shaun Jr., Alayna, Leah, Patrick, Stephen Jr., and Xavier; dearest sister of Sandi Stewart and Wayne (Miko) Haney; aunt of Jeff (Mandie) Haney and Mark Haney; great aunt of Kyle and Alex Haney; dear cousin and friend to many.
Debbie had a passion for cooking and baking for her family and friends. She lived for her children and grandchildren. Her joy came from seeing them happy and she had a very close bond with her grandchildren. She enjoyed late night talks with her sister, Sandi and traveling with her to see out of town family. She often spoke of her brother, Wayne and how hard it was not to have him closer to them.
Debbie made her career in the banking industry, starting at Community Federal and after four buyouts and over 30 years of service, she retired from Bank of America. She began as a teller and worked her way through multiple departments, finally ending in the Fraud and Reclamations Department.
Debbie loved to travel and recently found a love for crafting, decorating her home at Christmas with all the things she had made. She had a love for nature and enjoyed seeing God’s beauty in the flowers, waterfalls and the little things most people take for granted. Debbie was a member of United Fellowship Baptist Church and very involved in the ministries of her church. She was a major part of the fellowship team, planning and preparing church luncheons and special events. Her compassion for others was evident when visiting members of the church, who were unable to attend services. She was also very instrumental in preparing cookie trays at Christmas for our local first responders and enjoyed delivering them this past year to the departments. She touched the lives of many through her church ministries. Debbie’s faith was extremely important to her. She was a faithful member of Bible Study Fellowship and enjoyed studying and learning more from God’s Word.
Debbie was a beautiful, gentle, selfless soul who was loved and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Fellowship Baptist Church.
A visitation for Debbie will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with burial at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
