June 3, 1950 - May 12, 2026
Dennis Godt, a beloved father, grandfather and husband, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026, just shy of 76 trips around the sun (or a lifetime journey of more than 44 billion miles). Born in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Elmer and Paula Godt, Dennis lived the majority of his life in St. Peters, Mo., with his wife of 43 years, Velma Godt (née Farris).
A sci-fi loving kid, Dennis had his eyes on the future and learned computer networking before most people had even touched a PC. He built a long career working for Monsanto, Solutia and Pomeroy Technologies, and later in life served as a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association. Raised Lutheran by devout parents, Dennis followed his family into the Baptist Church upon the baptism of his sons.
His quiet wit will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Velma, sons Evan(Kristin) and Ethan (Emilie)Godt, and grandson Julian Godt. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Paula. A small, closed memorial service will be held in Dennis' honor, and the family requests donations in lieu of flowers to be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
"Death is that state in which one only exists in the memory of others, which is why it is not an end. No goodbyes, just good memories."
