Ahhh Grandma Brockey, too many loved ones have left this world and us behind but it is a comfort to know that they are together again in heaven. Gene is with his beloved wife Maryann and his precious daughter Amanda. Till we meet again. Love, Memories and hearts full of missing.

Here we are as kids when we lived on Palm  St in the city. So many memories of our childhood together that it’s hard to name them all. I miss both my brothers so much. Mom Audrey and myself talk of those days often.

I was Nate’s date at this wedding reception. We all danced, and had fun.

TanTara was our favorite location. Time spent touring the area like this at Michales Chateau or playing games and chatting for hours.

We went on many day and weekend trips together. There are so many memories that it’s difficult to choose just a few. Love and miss you so much Gene.

The things I remember and miss most about my big brother is his easy laughter,crooked smile and his kind heart ❤️ 
I will miss playing cards with my sister,mom and Gene about every other week. We were such a close family.
Gene you touched so many with that big kind heart and easy-going ways. Your presence here is truely a loss to this world. And a great loss for me and our family.

Gary and I wish to extend our condolences to the family of Gene Florea.   We knew Gene and his family best while members of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Florissant.    His dedication to God, that church, its ministries, and committment to the care of its physical plant was  'above and beyond' expectation!    His committment as a Shriner was another sign of his caring as well as  the 'fun' he had when he drove HIS CAR in parades!    Gene will long be remembered for his love of those things that were GOOD and WORTHWILE!   Rest in Peace, Gene, and know you were loved and appreciated!   The McClain Family

Gene you are going to be missed by so many. Your funny sense of humor and your smiles. I remember when I first met you. Youvwere sitting the Jim's garage and I walked up and seen you andvstared at gor a minute and  I said "Oh my gosh you look just like Jim!« and you said "Well. I never heard that before. " I laughed and you gave me that smile. You definitely will be missed.

Gene was an awesome neighbor!  I can remember one time I sent my grandson over to borrow a tool to get help get the roots out from a bush I was trying to remove. Instead of loaning the tool Gene came over in his wheelchair and removed the roots.  And there was the time Sara was debating on buying a Christmas cookie jar at my garage sale but said she really had enough. Gene came over later and bought the cookie jar and gave it to Sara for Christmas.  Gene was always a lot of fun and he stayed in touch even after I moved to Topeka. Gene will be greatly missed. Condolences to Billy, Sara, Shelby, Tyler, Nathan and the rest of the family.

Will miss my big brother. We had a special bond with many memories. Love him so much. He was such a big hearted soul. Always first in line to help anyone. He was funny and kind a gentleman.

I knew Gene for a comparatively short time, but I was impressed with his genial, caring spirit, and I will always be grateful and remember him as a wonderful friend and neighbor to my son and daughter-in-law.  My sympathy, love, and prayers to all his family.

Gene, you were a brother and a true friend.  If everyone could have a neighbor like you, there would be no hate in this world (but I know you'd be yelling at someone for putting "Everett Eugene" in your obituary!) 

You certainly put up with a lot from our side of the fence, including the time a whole jar of my spice mix wound up in a quart of chili you were making. I could hear you yelling all the way from Shelbina.

Linda and I will miss you terribly. But we know you're in a far better place. We'll all be neighbors again someday, so please get a pot of ham and beans going, with extra horseradish.

To the rest of the Florea's...you're one of the finest families on God's earth and we know this is tough for you. We pray for His peace to be with you, in the assurance that there will be a great reunion.

It's sad to lose Gene.  I have many memories working with him at St Andew over the years.  Gene was always ready to jump in and help.
