Irene Louise Aubuchon

Irene Louise Aubuchon, age 95, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. . She was born June 5, 1928 to the late August and Louise (nee Gruenewald) Beck. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver S. Aubuchon, along with her brothers; Raymond and Milton Beck, and a son-in-law, Steven Vehige.

Irene graduated from Clayton High School in 1945, and then went to work at Land Title Insurance Company in Clayton, Missouri. She worked there for over forty years and retired in 1990. She met Oliver at a dance that she attended with her brother, Milton. She and Oliver went dancing every Saturday night with friends. They were married on September 27, 1952. They bought their brick bungalow on Valentines Day in 1953, where they raised their family and spent out the rest of their lives. When Irene wasn’t working, she spent time crocheting Afghans, washing clothes, and other items. She also enjoyed doing word puzzles, and word finds.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughters; Brenda (Gary) Wagner, Diane (Wes) Sanders, and Donna Vehige, her grandchildren; Craig (Jennifer) Wagner, Eric (Stefanie) Wagner, Rebecca Vehige, Heather (Forrest) Thrasher, Josh Sanders, and Matt Vehige. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren; Jessica, Allison, Luke, Logan, Barret, Waylon, Jameson, and Chloe. She was an aunt, a cousin, and a friend to many.

A visitation for Irene will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 16, 2023 at 9:00 AM, at the funeral home. Irene will be laid to rest with her beloved, Oliver at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, St. Louis, MO 63125.
