SSGT Joseph Albert Hartleb, age 65, of Parks, Ariz., formerly of Belleville, Ill., passed away on February 19, 2014. He was the beloved son of the late Floyd and Joan Hartleb, nee Sauerwein. He is also survived by a God Daughter Robin Cole, granddaughter Natalie Cole; siblings Ann Hartleb (Gary Hollandsworth), Patricia (Ron) Cole, Mary (Terry) Mueth and Kathy (Dan) George; special caregiver C.J. Hollandsworth; five nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents Albert and Augusta Hartleb and Joseph and Alma Sauerwein.
Mr. Hartleb was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was in the service for 20 years and eight days and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He loved target practice and was a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights. Memorial donations are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, or the donor’s favorite Veterans’ service organization.
A committal service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Friday Feb. 28, 2014, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, St. Ann, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
