SWOPE, Marvin R., 79, on Friday, August 8, 2014. Beloved husband of Mary F. (nee Geer) Swope; loving father of Kevin Swope, Steven (Cathy) Swope, and Cheryl (Grant) Watson; dear "Grumpa" of Rev. Brian (Katie) Swope, Ben Swope, David Swope, Kayla (Cody) Norris, Rev. Nicholas (Angi) Watson, Micah (Jori) Swope, Titus Swope, Amelia Watson, and Mason Watson; great "Grumpa" of Kanan, Lily, Josiah, Tolliver, London, Olivia, Jocelyn, Hayden, Liam, Colbie, and Harvey; dear son of the late William G. and Margaret (nee Meihofer; dear brother of the late Betty Jean Schuk.

Marvin was an avid baseball fan and very much enjoyed football and working on his computer but these never could supercede his love for his family and his church. He served as Finance Committee Chairman and as a deacon for Overland Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing a round or two of golf and cards with his friends and was known as being very soft-hearted.

SERVICES: Visitation 4-8pm Monday at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Ann, MO 63074. Funeral services 11am Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Overland Baptist Church 9303 Midland Ave., Overland, MO 63114. There will also be a short visitation from 10am prior to the service. memorial contributions are suggested to the church. A private interment service will take place at later in Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
