

William “Bill” Patrick O’Day, 97, of Ferguson, MO Fortified with the Sacrament of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Bill was born in St. Louis, MO to Mary (nee Flanigan) and William J. O’Day on January 10, 1917. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was a proud World War II veteran serving in the US Army including the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge receiving 6 bronze stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and many other military honors. In 1947, he married his beautiful wife, Delores, and raised two wonderful boys. The 4th of July was always Bill’s holiday and he enjoyed celebrating America’s freedom with his family, barbeque, and beer. He worked for 42 years at Garrison and Wagner Display Company where he formed many lifelong friendships. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores; 2 sisters, May and Gert; and a brother, Vince. Bill is survived by his children, Michael (Darlene) O’Day and Mark (Anna) O’Day; grandchildren, Krystal, Ashley, KayDee, Tim, and Melanie; and many other relatives. He was a dear husband, father, grandfather “Pop O”, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend.
Services: Visitation will at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon with well-deserved military honors. Burial will private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
