

Alexander McLuckie, age 99, passed away peacefully November 23, 2013 in St. Clair Shores, MI. He was born August 27, 1914 in Youngstown, Ohio. Family members said Alex was part of the “Greatest Generation” serving in WWII in Great Britain as a Meteorologist for the Army Air Force. He was a 1932 graduate of Southeastern High School and a retiree of the Federal Mogul Corporation. He resided in Grosse Pointe Woods for 57 years. He enjoyed music and played his trombone for many years as part of the Grosse Pointe Community Band. Alex was loved, respected and admired by so many who were blessed to know him. His parents were the late Alexander and Elizabeth Robertson McLuckie. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Mareydt McLuckie for 61 years. He is survived by his daughters Suzanne Mcluckie Kardasz and husband Dan of Sterling Heights, MI., and Jane McLuckie Lendway and husband Alan of Montpelier, VT. He was “Buppa” to Michael (Kim) Kardasz of Troy, MI, Ross Lendway of Boston, MA, and Alison Lendway of Providence, RI. He was “Great Buppa” to Alex, James, and Emma Kardasz. He was predeceased by his brother James R. McLuckie.
