She was the much loved grandmother of Andrew and Ashley Wahnschaff, and Allison Hanna, Ariel Hanna Kloppe, Marissa Hanna, and Kelsey Hanna Miller, as well as great grandmother to Ricky and Penelope Kloppe and Collette Miller.
Barbara loved the family cottage at Blue Point in Canada built by her father,in the mid-50's. It was her special retreat, and she loved walking the Lake Huron shore beach combing for shells, driftwood or colored glass. She snorkeled in the lake looking for fish, rocks or even golf balls.
She loved gardening and plant lore. Her green thumb for growing and caring for orchids meant she could always coax a beautiful blossom to wear on her dress for special occasions.
Barbara loved to bake pies - apple, rhubarb, pumpkin and cherry, especially great warm from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. She also loved looking for great deals at garage sales, and could always tell which streets would have better finds than others. She was active in both the Girls Scouts of America and Boy Scouts. Barbara also loved animals, crafting, card playing, and public service through her church and with The Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a ranking officer and lifetime member. Barbara was also quite the world traveler, journeying to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Greece London, St. Kitts, Toronto, New Brunswick, Hawaii and many other destinations.
We will miss her with all our hearts.
