Known to her friends and family as Theresa, Catherine Bertolini was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Raymond George Bertolini. She is survived by her six children Mark (Mari), John (Karen), Peter (Brooke), Angela (Gaylord), Nina (Dom), Phillip (Kathleen) and loving niece Cindy Palmer-Hughes (Mike). Theresa was a proud grandmother of 12, Eric, Lauren, Rachel, Nicole, Joseph, Kelly, Caitlin, Jessica, Nick, Allison, Bradley, and Steven, and great grandmother of four, Michael, Natalie, Kayley, and Madeline.
Theresa was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, raised her family in St. Clair Shores, and was dedicated parishioner of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. She was the nurse of Doremus Street while raising her children and enjoyed her property in northern Michigan, especially during the ski season. Theresa was also proud of her historic home on Lake St. Clair in St. Clair Shores. She was a retired registered nurse who advocated for nursing home reform and the care of Michigan’s elderly population during her career. Theresa was a mentor to many during her nursing career and was affectionately known as “Mrs. B”.
Theresa was community oriented and a member and past-President of the Questors, a non-profit organization dedicated to the study, conservation, and preservation of historical objects. She was also a member of the City of St. Clair Shores Historical Commission and integral in the fundraising activities for the preservation of the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum.
Services are on Friday, May 21, 2021. A gathering will be at 7:30 pm with a mass immediately following at 8:00 pm at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
