

Cynthia Kmetz Campbell, age 68, of Grosse Pointe Park (and St. Clair Shores), Michigan, passed away comfortably with immediate family present, on January 11, 2026. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to parents Edward and Dolores Kmetz. Cynthia is the beloved wife of 43 years to James D. Campbell. She was a loving mother to Christine (James) Chapman and Jeffrey Campbell. Cherished “Nana” to Liam Chapman and Luke Chapman. Dear sister to surviving brothers Robert Kmetz and David Kmetz, and to Steven and Michael (both passed).
Cynthia graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School (Class of ’75) and then graduated from Eastern Michigan University (1979), where she was president of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority where she made numerous lifelong friends. After college and jobs in fashion and retail, she became a stay-at-home mom. In the late 90s she began conducting estate sales and performing home organizing. Her passions were gardening, animals such as horses, cats, dogs and dolphins. She loved the California beaches as well. Additionally, she loved collectible items, yet her primary focus was always on family, her children and grandchildren, brothers, In-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cynthia will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
