Daniel Arthur Elles, age 85, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday February 9th, 2025. He was born on March 9th, 1939 to parents Wilfred (1975) and Elizabeth (1987) Elles. Husband for 63 years to the love of his life Delores. Loving father to Danny David Elles, Derek (Mimi) Elles, DeAnna (Barry) Ludvigson and Debi (Mario Jr.) Fiordilino. Proud grandfather to Dedrick Elles, RJ (Brittany) Mahlie, Doug Elles, Jeana Elles, Mario Fiordilino III, Antonio Fiordilino, Gavin Smith, Dominic Fioridlino, Danica Smith and great-grandfather to Julianna Mahlie. Dear brother to Donna Jean (2010) Elles, Dennis Elles, David (Glenda) Elles, Diane (Rich) Eland and Dawn (Mike) Lesperance. Brother-in-law to Mary Ellen, Robert, Christina, Patricia, Carmen (Gary), Connie, Ramon (Monica), Ralph and Annemarie. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews, including his godchildren Rosalind Kroha and Ray Valdez Jr.
After graduating from De La Salle Collegiate High School, Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to become a Detroit police officer and later a private investigator. Danny liked to watch westerns and listen to country music, he liked to bet on football games and play keno. Most of all he liked to spend time with his loved ones, playing cards and talking on the phone with his many wonderful friends.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
Daniel will be laid to rest with military honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. A small private service will be held for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Capuchins Monastery in Detroit.
