Doris holds a special place in my heart!
It wasn’t until I had children and a home of my own that I realized how “Dear” she really was! Welcoming  with open arms my Dad Joe and all five of us kids!  She didn’t get out the paper plates, and cover her furniture! Her fine china, elegant glassware, linen tablecloths & napkins  with a feast prepared for royalty! Her beautiful home with no limits or rules explained!  Five hungry active kids ready, set, go... Oh! I remember her  warm smile, her generous laughter, her approving nod! I knew I was in a real castle and a very loving home! John Paul, Tommy, and Karen were so  much Fun! Doris made me  and my whole family feel special!
I imagine Her in heaven with her old friend Jean, my Mom,  and this is very comforting to me! Doris and her whole family are in my thoughts & prayers!

    Aunt Doris was a fun and loving lady. She cared about our family after our mother passed away .  Even before this we loved going to their home to visit,  my Mom and her were like “Sisters “ and had a very close relationship. Doris was the greatest cook I learned her secret for the best mashed potatoes and still make them tlll this day , and I promised her not to tell and I never have. Lol  I think her and my mom shared fashion , cooking and cleaning . Oh yes ! And dancing ! She and Wendell and my mother and father loved to dance. .. and Lawrence Welk too.  John Paul, Tommy and Karen were so much fun ! We had big delicious  cookouts I remember as well. She loved my mother and would cry and hug me . She told me your mother loved her children don’t you ever forget that . She was so comforting like a blessing from God. 
  My heart and prayers go out to you Karen and John Paul  you’re mother will be missed my many she was just one of those special Angels that you never forget.  90 years young I bet .

Aunt Doris was very special to us and our family. When we were very young children, even after our Mother passed, she always invited my Father and us five children to dinner. We loved going to their beautiful home and sharing a beautiful meal with her, Uncle John, who was also my Godfather, John Paul, Tommy, and Karen. Such a lovely, loving, fun family. Remember the HUGE chalk board in the laundry room in the basement we would spend hours drawing and writing on it. It was the largest chalk board I had ever seen. Even though we have not seen Aunt Doris for a while, we will always remember what a beautiful, sophisticated, loving, kind, sweet, elegant, generous, wonderful woman she was. She will be missed. We will keep her, Karen, John Paul, and family in our thoughts and prayers. Miss you all and would love to connect some time in the future.
