James (Jim) Kenneth Faasse, beloved father, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on February 6, 1956, in Ridgewood, NJ, to James and Louise Faasse, James was the eldest of three children, growing up alongside his two sisters. From a young age, his sharp wit, curious mind, and mischievous spirit captivated everyone around him. His humor and quick quips will be deeply missed, lovingly cherished, and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
To know James was to have a story—a moment that perfectly encapsulated his unique personality and unforgettable quirks. Known for his passion for lighthouses, his love of puzzles, and his enjoyment of Spanish coffees, James had a gift for transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary and making life’s special moments truly memorable.
James was many things in life: a loving son, partner, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Faasse, Jim’s memory will live on through those who hold his legacy close to their hearts. He is survived by his devoted partner of 14 years, Megan Baker; his son, Michael Faasse; his sisters, Susan (Jim) DeLong and Linda Faasse; his cherished niece and nephew, Chelsea DeLong and Jimmy DeLong; his great nieces, Athena and Aurora DeLong; and his loyal dog, Queenie, who accompanied him on countless adventures.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
A celebration of life will be held on December 4, 2024 at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081 from 3:00pm-8:00pm with a funeral service at 7:00pm, where those who loved James can gather to honor his remarkable life and lasting impact.
