Joshua D. Hevron, age 35, passed away on May 4, 2022. He was born on October 12, 1986 in Rochester Hills, Michigan to his loving parents Mary and the late Nicholas Hevron. Josh is survived by his loving wife Laura; siblings: Matthew (Joy), Jon (Jen); and nieces and nephew: Josie, Lily, and Sig.
Josh’s passion in life was sailing and being on the water. He completed 9 Port Huron to Mackinac races, 2 Chicago to Mackinac races, 4 Mills Trophy races, 1 Ft. Lauderdale to Key West Race, 3 Lake Huron International Races, and 9 deliveries between Lake St. Clair and Lake Michigan. Josh placed 3rd overall in the 2021 Chicago to Mackinac race and 2nd place in Class in the 2021 Port Huron to Mackinac race. He was a proud one design racer in numerous classes and an express 27 owner.
Josh was a U of D Jesuit Graduate (2005) and was a founding member of the robotics team 1701. He was the 1998 and 1999 Michigan Future Problem Solvers creative writing state champion and in 1998, he took 2nd place internationally for his creative writing scenario.
During his working career, he served in the role of Senior Database Administrator, where he supported several hundred databases and impacted many teams. He recently pioneered a Cloud Data Warehouse, enabling the analysis and reporting of enterprise Rocket Team Members. Josh won the Technology All-Stars award in 2017 and was nominated for a Gilbert award. He had a passion for automation, digging deep into how things worked and using his excellent dry wit to keep things fun during his time at work.
Josh was also a member of CSYC, DRYA, ILCA, IDNIYRA, GMARC clubs and had his amateur HAM radio license KE8GZR.

A celebration of Josh’s life will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Dragon’s Landing, 24409 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. The dress code is Mackinac Island party causal. For those that are sailors, please wear your crew shirts.
