Molly was born on January 2, 1961, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, a daughter to the late Hank and Pat Stelma.
Molly was someone who always put her kids first. Whether they were the many servers and staff she managed at restaurants over the years and jokingly called her "kids," to the dogs she lovingly and proudly raised and trained, and of course her children Tim and Sam. Together with Danny, her husband of 32 years, she supported Tim and Sam every step of the way from PTO officer to "momager" as they embarked on their careers.
In addition to time spent with Danny and her kids, she worked to master her crafts, becoming a certified sommelier and sharing wine recommendations with friends, family and the world. She was an avid Tigers and Lions fan, rooting for the teams through thick and thin. And she loved summer, spending as much time as she could at the cottage in Lexington, enjoying the beach by day and laughing around the fire by night, especially during Girls' Weekend. She was smart, thoughtful, and humorous with a signature snark.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pat and Hank, and by her brother Mike.
Molly is survived by her husband Danny, her children Tim and Sam (Bronwyn), her sisters Carol (Ron) and Chris (Jim), and her brothers Tim (Pam) and Tom (Karen). She is also survived by countless friends and family who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 25 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Barrister Gardens at 24225 Harper Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Civil Liberties Union online at https://action.aclu.org/give/make-gift-aclu-someones-memory.
