Phil was my mail carrier on Lincoln  Street for 16 years. He was always friendly and took time to get to know you. We had many conversations about the city, work and family. Phil is one of those special people that made our street feel like a community.  I was so sad to hear he passed on so early. I wanted to let his family know he will be missed!

Phil, (Sensi Phil) was and will always be a great friend and mentor. He was my daughter's Karate instructor and friend. Over the years we became more like family. Phil and Jodie helped and took care of our family more than we could ever imagine. Phil loved all the children he taught, he was tough when needed but never gave up on the children and for this we are truely grateful to have known such a humble, hardworking man. Sensei Phil was an incredible man with a heart of gold. My son loved him and cherished the time he had while training with him in karate. My son TJ(11) looked up to him and couldn't wait for training class to tell Phil how good he did in school that day. He will surely be missed. One if a kind. My heart is broken. 

Jody and family... so sorry for your loss. "Mr. USPO"will be fondly remembered, after his twenty years on our route in Mount Clemens. He was the soul of integrity and thoughfulness and has been missed, since he "retired" a few months back. 

I will never forget August 22,1998.  It was a beautiful day outside.  All the family came  together at my house to share in the joy of Phil and Jodie exchanging their vows.  I really enjoyed all the planning and the hosting of their wedding day. 

It breaks our heart to hear of the loss of Phil. He was loved by everyone in the community. Our Macomb County Historical Society just honored him with a brick in our garden this past August for all his years of dedicated service as our post man. Our condolences go out to Phil's family and friends. We are truly heart-broken. 

Phil was a kind, hard-working postman. The citizens of Woolworth Ct. (Where my sister lives-Paula Davis) we're sad to loose Phil as their mailman. This was  several years ago, and no replacement could ever compare to him!
We had a dog, named Champ, who loved him and earnestly looked for his truck
every day that we walked him! This was because Phil would ALWAYS share a delicious dog bone and a pat on the head!
Phil was kind, and always seemed happy! Our family will NEVER forget this kind gentleman! RIP, Phil

He was born to the proud parents of Philip Groves and Willene Gillies. Philip is the loving husband to Jodie L. Groves. He is the beloved dad to Stephanie (Mark) Brown and Corey Groves. Philip is the cherished grandpa to Hailey, Jackson and Parker Brown. He is the dear brother to Eric (Mickey) Groves and uncle to their two children Tyler and Breanna Groves.
