September 11, 2015. Age 85. Beloved husband of Sue (Teninty). Loving father of Paul, Tom, Joe (Nan), Marie (Michael) Cole, Richard (Kim), Ted, Celeste (Neilton) Santana. Proud and loving grandpa to 13 grandchildren and one great grand daughter. Preceded in death by parents Earl and Mabel Chaperon and brother John Chaperon. Graduate of St. Anthony’s HS in Detroit and University of Detroit in 1959. Served in Korean War. Retired from Detroit Edison after 45 years of service. Richard was a devout Catholic attending church daily for most of his retirement years. Loved the food and people at Rex’s Deli on the Eastside for nearly 20 years.
