Susan Jenine Chabot, age 71, of Troy Michigan took her final flight to heaven on March 23, 2023. In 71 years she took hundreds of flights, visited dozens of places and enjoyed the sun on her in several amusement parks, campgrounds and beaches with her two girls. When not traveling she was helping kids navigate life as a guidance counselor at Bishop Foley, Holy Redeemer and Regina high schools. With over 35 years of work with the archdiocese of Detroit, she helped thousands of students make the most of their futures. In her time on earth she also saw her favorite stars several times including Billy Joel, The Supremes and even danced at Swingin’ Time… but nothing beat seeing her high school crush over and over … Paul McCartney, aka “the best Beatle”.
Always the fighter with grace, she beat kidney cancer in 2003 and stretched what was expected to be a six month life expectancy to 20 “bonus” years of travels and memories with her family.
She was born on October 31, 1951, to the parents of Norbert and Genevieve Tencza. Beloved wife of the late Edward. Cherished Mom to Holly (Heather) and Jennifer. Loving Nani to Elise and Henry. Dear Sister to Judy (Joe) and Norby. Sister-In-Law to Carl and Donald. Aunt to Danielle (Daniel) , Melissa, Sean, Carly and Julie. Great aunt to Daniel, David, Dominic, Amelia and Linda.
Susan will be missed by many family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, beginning with a gathering at 10:00 am, until time of service at 11:00 am, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, at the funeral home. Internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
Memorial donations in memory of Susan are suggested to the Dementia Society of America.
