Geloneck, Thomas A., passed away at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Nancy for nearly 40 years. Loving father of Richard, Kimberly and Alan (Jennifer). Proud and loving grandpa of Reid, Raegan and Walter. Loving brother of Janice (Michael) Colella. Dear brother-in-law of Joannie (John-deceased) Turner, Gracie (Michael) Pedrie, Chris (Walter-deceased) Murray and Mary Fran Murray. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, a dear cousin and a friend to countless others. Predeceased by his parents Marvin and Frieda, his brother Dick and sister-in-law, Alberta.
Tom was a genuinely kind, honorable, generous man - giving his time and assistance to family or friends any way he could. Family was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his life as a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, godfather and friend. He had a deep respect for those who serve in our armed services, especially the U.S. NAVY (as his brother Dick retired from after serving), a glorious mustache, a tremendous sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a passion for many things… family times, mashed potatoes, “Yellowstone”, movies, Michigan Wolverines football, the Detroit Lions, and car shows…many, many car shows!
From a very young age, Tom was a car guy. When he retired in 2003 (from TNT Overland Express, a proud Teamster member of Local 299) he gifted himself with “Marilyn”…a beautiful, nocturne blue 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix that was a great labor of love and source of absolute joy for him. With Marilyn, Tom would enjoy the next 20 summers at car shows all over southeast Michigan, cruising and showing his car with many of the good friends that he made over the years, as they all collected dash plaques, trophies and memories together.
Tom left us all too soon but he’ll forever live on in our hearts, our memories and our smiles.
