Dear Salter Family:
Words will never completely express our loss of such a terrific human being as Tom Salter. Our neighborhood will miss him dearly.

Tom was a great guy, who knew how to put folks at ease while he worked his camera. I always enjoyed hearing about his hunting and fishing exploits when he visited Parker (in its various forms) to take pictures. What a pro! He will be missed and I'm sorry for your loss.

Tom was a good guy, always there to take the photos we needed a special events. He even made a negative of my cat for me, and I still have that and always pleasant to deal with. My prayers are with his family and friends.

We want you to know how blessed we were to have known Tom.  He was a calming voice on our street and always made each neighbor feel special.  The wonderful memories of him will comfort you in this difficult time.

It's impossible to summarize the many ways Tom touched so many lives. He seemed always to have a smile and a kind word for everyone and has left his family with so many wonderful memories. His loss will be felt by many, but he lives on in his children and grandchildren. Heartfelt sympathy to his entire family.

Sadly, Bill's cousin Tom Salter lost his battle with lung desease. He was hard working, innovative, energetic, and charming. And he was a loving dad to two daughters (Cindy Salter Coddington and Julie Knight) and a involved grandfather of 6. Bill recalled learning a lot about home improvement projects from Tom. Thank you Tom...you were preparing him for me! Bill first met Tommy 65 years ago at Big Lake (near Pontiac MI). Weekends/summers spent at Big Lake, along with Bill's sister Jean Young , her now husband Donald Young (related to Tom) and Bill's cousin Michelle (Mike), they would water ski, fish (including ice fishing), sail, swim, play golf, and hunt. Bill said if there was a wild man at the lake, it was Tom. Tom married Bill's cousin Mike. As a professional photographer, Tom enjoyed a comfortable life. When I met Tom in 1995 at their home in Lake St. Clair, MI, I was impressed by his 'enthusiasm for life'; he was young at heart. He was welcoming and couldn't wait to take us out on his boat. We'll miss you Tom. Bill will be flying to Detroit on 5/15 to attend the 5/16 service.

I remember Tom as a true professional who had a way with people, in getting everyone lined up or taking action shots, that showed the real side of people.  And, the real side of Tom was being a gentlemen, & loving his work, with patience and persistence!  Deepest sympathy to the entire family.

Tom was one of the most personable and kind individuals ever!  He will truly be missed; we have lost a gentleman and a friend.

Marge and I are so sorry to hear about Tom's death. What a shock!

Tom was a real professional, gentleman and warm person. I will certainly cherish all the good times we had working and socializing together. I certainly enjoyed him as a friend. He will be missed.
