

Kanehsatake-Beverly Joan Nelson, born July 31, 1958 (67), known to many as Boo Boo, started her journey back to the spirit world on Saturday July 18, 2026, after her courageous battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by family at Maison Sercan palliative care home in Saint-Eustache.
She was known for her love of Halloween and all things spooky, along with music, movies, arts, crafts, baking, and cooking. Bev will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.
She is survived by her children James and Amanda Nelson, her mother Jessie Nelson, her siblings Earl, Wayne (Eva), Esther (Tommy), her grandchildren Lorna Pilon (Athena) and Jarred Simard, along with her many niece’s, nephews, cousins, friends, her beloved dog Harley, and her collection of Halloween decorations.
She was predeceased by her father Clyde Nelson, and her loving husband Russell McComber.
A ceremony will be held at Les Salons Funeraires Guay, 146 Rue Saint-Louis at Saint-Eustache on July 29 & 30, 2026. The family will receive friends there from 10am to 12pm, 2pm to 4pm, and then 6pm to 9pm Wednesday on July 29, 2026, and from 10am to 2pm (2pm ceremony) on Thursday July 30. A reception will follow at the Kanatakon Kawa:tsire Hall 240 Rue Saint Michel. Flowers and memorial gifts or donations to Montreal Cancer Center or the Maison Sercan in Saint-Eustache where she spent her last few days are welcome but not necessary.
