

C’est avec chagrin que nous vous annonçons le décès d’Annette Christine Devost Soucy, survenu le lundi 14 octobre 2024 à l’âge de 81 ans. Fille de Camille et de Christine, elle est partie rejoindre son mari tant aimé, Roger Soucy et son frère Joseph Claude Devost.
Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille :Teena (Marc) ; ses sœurs : Linda (Ronald) et Marie-Paule (Daniel) ; ses neveux et nièces ainsi que plusieurs autres parents et amis.
Elle était infirmière de profession dans différents domaines tels que la Croix-Rouge, les urgences, les services communautaires et miniers. Le projet dont elle a été le plus fière était la construction d’une clinique de maternité bâtit par la communauté locale en Afrique de l’ouest.

La famille recevra les condoléances directement en l’Église de la paroisse située au 668 rue principale, St-Léonard, Nouveau-Brunswick E7E 2H6 à compter de 10h (heure du Nouveau-Brunswick) le samedi 26 octobre, suivie de la cérémonie et de l’inhumation au cimetière de la même paroisse.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Annette Christine Devost Soucy, on Monday October 14, 2024 at the age of 81, in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. Born on March 29, 1943 in Lille, Maine, she was the daughter of Camille and Christine Devost.
In her early years, Annette was a parishioner of the former Mt. Carmel Church in Lille, Maine. She was educated at Notre Dame School in Lille and graduated from Sacred Heart School in Van Buren, Maine. She went on to complete her nursing degree program in Edmundston, New Brunswick.
She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her profession as a hospital, industrial and provincial nurse of Canada. She served with pride and contributed greatly to her community by working with the Red Cross, Veterans, and other organizations. She was instrumental in initiating, promoting and overseeing the completion of a hospital clinic in West Africa, providing medical assistance to the local villages.
Annette is survived by her daughter, Teena Soucy, and her husband, Marc Cote of St. Hyacinthe, QC; her two sisters, Marie Paule and her husband, Daniel Lapointe, of Van Buren, ME, Linda and her husband, Ronald Daigle, of Madawaska, ME. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces along with other relatives and friends who cherished her deeply. She is predeceased by her loving husband Roger Soucy in 2018 and a brother Joseph Claude Devost.
In lieu of flowers, you are invited to make a donation to the Aline Letendre Foundation in St-Hyacinthe, QC.
The family will receive condolences directly at the Saint-Léonard-de-Port-Maurice Parish Church at 668 Main Street, St-Léonard, New Brunswick from 10 a.m. (New Brunswick time) on Saturday, October 26th, followed by the ceremony and internment in the parish cemetery.
