I am at a loss for words, Having the chance to meet Darren and your whole family when they organized that surprise birthday party for you was a gift and chatting with him you could really see how much love he had for you and the girls.
The love between all of you was so palpable and warm, may that love bring you strength through the tough times to come and bring you light on darker days.

Rachael, I won't be able to be there in person to express how sorry I am for your loss, but know that I am thinking of you and your family with all my heart. I will light a candle for Darren tomorrow at 2:00 PM and think back to the time I first met your beautiful family in London in 2022.

Watching your family grieve has been hard, but so has seeing how much love you still have for each other.  That love will Carry you through.    Our deepest condolence to the whole family.

Uncle Darren was a light to my Auntie Rachel and my beautiful cousins, Isabel, Hannah, and Ryan; bringing so much love, laughter, and happiness. My family and I will always cherish the memories of their trips to Toronto, especially the visits and sleepovers when we somehow managed to fit everyone into our condo. Those moments were filled with so much warmth, laughter, good food, and, of course, the West Indian dishes and snacks he loved. One memory I will always hold close to my heart was when Uncle Darren, Hannah, and I went to pick up Pizza Pizza during one of their visits. That night, he and Hannah were listening to Metallica and convinced me to rock my head along with them. We all laughed so much. He also introduced me to the simple combination of pizza and beer, and I will never forget us raising our drinks, saying “cheers,” and clinking our drinks together. It is such a small moment, but such a special memory that will stay with me forever. I will always remember Uncle Darren’s calm and comforting voice of the way he handled situations with our big family. Although he is no longer here with us, the love, laughter, and memories he gave us will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in eternal peace, Uncle Darren. You will always be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered. With all my love, Shavena Bacchus.

Although I did not know your Dad/Brother, just by seeing how wonderful you all are certainly reflects how he must have been. 

I am positive that he felt so blessed and proud to have you all in his life and must have had so much gratitude for being able to see and hold baby Gwen in his arms.

May you all hold the fond memories of wonderful moments spent together in your hearts forever. Those memories will never die. That for me is, the gift of life! 🙏
