June, or Lala, as she was more commonly known to her grandchildren, was born in Scotland and emigrated to Canada with her husband and her two young children in 1969. She made her life on Boyd Street in Greenfield Park making many good friends along the way at square dancing, bowling and bingo. Her beloved Habs have lost one of their biggest fans. Canada has been her home for the past 54 years but her heart has always been in Scotland. She returned there many times over the years to visit friends and family and she will make one last trip back to the land of her birth to be laid to rest.
Lala loved her grandkids. She was a regular on the sidelines of the soccer pitch encouraging her girls and their teammates on to victory. She would always purposely cook more food than could possibly be eaten by her and Papa so that she could send him out making meals on wheels deliveries of her famous curry, mince and tatties and Shepperd’s pie to her children and grandchildren. Every birthday and holiday they knew that Lala would have a card for each of them with a generous gift hidden within. She loved them all and they loved her.
She is survived in Scotland by nine siblings and their families and in Canada by her husband, George (Papa), her son Andrew (Magalie), her daughter Suzanne (Danny) and her grandchildren Will, Connor (Marisa), Taylor (Louis), Brittany (Jonathan), Evelyn and Alexandra.
A visitation with the family will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, July 24th, 2023 at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray and White funeral home located at 307 Riverside, Saint-Lambert, Qc. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or to the McGill University Hospital Centre Foundation.
