Born in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, January 2nd, 1930, she emigrated to Canada in 1956 to continue her nursing career. She was a major influence at the Montreal General Hospital, the Jewish General Hospital and the Royal Victoria Hospital.
She married Raymond Ferguson, in September 1957 and had their only child, Barry, in June of 1958.
Lorna took great pride in her community, becoming a prominent member in the infancy of the Jamaica Association of Montreal and was a founding member, along with her husband Raymond, of the South Shore Black Community Association, both being rewarded with the prestigious Jackie Robinson Award for their community service.
Lorna was pre-deceased by her mother Ida, her step-father Oscar DeBusscher and her husband Raymond, she is lovingly remembered by her son Barry and his wife Sheri, and her grand-daughter Linda and fiance Ryan Murdoch, along with dozens of great friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 28th, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Collins, Clarke, Macgillivray, White Funeral Home, 307 Promenade Riverside in St. Lambert. The funeral service will be Monday, April 29th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 7900 Naples, in Brossard, Monday April 29th at 11am.
