

Albert R. “Al” Ferrari of St. Louis, MO Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Monday, May 2, 2016. Cherished husband for 56 years of Marye Lee, loving Father of Chris (Kathleen), dearest Grandfather of Lauren, Jonathan and Nicholas, and close friend to many.
Al was born and raised in New York City as the only child to Italian immigrant parents, Richard and Fanny. He grew up playing basketball. He was a walk-on to Michigan State’s basketball team and went on to become a 3 time MVP. Al played basketball professionally for the St. Louis Hawks. His nickname was “Bronco” and was known for his toughness and determination. He was an active member of the 1-2-3 Club and the Buddy Fund. His integrity, optimism, and work ethic (“Keep your hands up” learned from Coach Pete Newell) will live on in all of us. Special thanks to Missouri Baptist Hospital and Dr. Mauney.
Visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 4900 Ringer Rd. on Fri., May 6, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
