Loving mother of Margy (Doug) Weisman and David (Susie) Morris. Adored grandmother of Jake and Cal Weisman; and Blair, Kayla and Evan Morris. Dear sister of Louise (late Warren) Siegel and Carole (David) Lander. Special friend of Howard Siegel. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was the adored daughter of Philip and Alice (nee Rossin) Weissman. She grew up in University City and attended college at the University of Illinois, later transferring and graduating from Washington University with a degree in education. She taught school for many years at Jackson Park elementary, the same school she attended as a child. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, who dedicated herself to her children while being an active volunteer in their schools and other community organizations. She worked for many years as a public relations representative for Monsanto (later Solutia) in the carpet division and as a tour guide for St. Louis Scene. In her later years, she spent 18 winters in Delray Beach and loved being a snowbird. She loved friends, clothes, shopping, laughing and entertaining. She reveled in her grandchildren (and granddogs). Barbara’s nickname in high school was “Sparky” for her sparky, sparkling personality. She had great positive energy and was beloved by all who knew her. She spent the last weeks of her life surrounded by love and had the opportunity to say goodbye to family and friends. She told everyone what a beautiful life she had and was grateful for her many blessings. She will be treasured forever.
