Carol Ann Frese

Carol Ann Frese (née Zukowsky), a beacon of love and warmth, was born on September 7, 1944, to Edward and Dorothy Zukowsky in Bremerton, Washington. On January 12, 2025, Carol passed away peacefully in O’Fallon, Missouri, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

Carol’s greatest legacy is her family, who will forever honor her memory. She leaves behind her three devoted daughters, Tina Runge, Gail Fetsch (Allen), and Jessica Goodman (Jason); her loving brothers, Denny Laughlin (Donna) and Kevin Laughlin (Gi-Gi); her caring sister, Peggy Schulz (Gary); and sister-in-law, Connie Laughlin. She now joins her dear brother, Chris Laughlin, who passed away in 2020.

Carol was the proud and adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren—Dawn (Aaron), Jacob (Sarah), Adele, Ciara (Matt), Dominique, Robert, Alexis, Natalie, Jace, and Camden—and the treasured great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren: Seraphina, Talia, Silas, Ella, Milo, Amber and Violet, with one more precious addition expected soon.

A woman of unwavering faith and boundless kindness, Carol found her greatest joy in the embrace of her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her compassionate spirit, gentle smile, and open heart touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carol’s life at a visitation on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kriegshauser Mortuary - West Chapel. Following the visitation, a mass of Christian burial will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in New Melle, Missouri at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America in Carol’s honor, to continue the fight against the disease that touched her life.

Carol’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed but remembered always with gratitude and love.
